Location
This rural site in wooded hilly Staffordshire makes an ideal location for roadwork.Motorway access just a couple of miles away at J15 of the M6 is a bonus for visitors and for accessing racecourses in all parts of the country.
Uttoxeter is our nearest course at 21 miles and Wolverhampton at 32 miles is a useful all-weather Polytrack location for a racecourse gallop. We have a dozen jump courses within 95 minutes including Cheltenham and Doncaster. There are 24 flat and jump courses within a couple of hours - from Chepstow and Huntingdon up to York and Cartmel in the north.
Our sheltered location at 120m has a mild climate and moderate winters. Manchester International Airport is just 40 minutes along the motorway. London is 84 minutes by train from Stoke-on Trent station, just 5 miles, or 10 minutes, from the stables.
We would be delighted to show you our facilities and you might like to combine a visit with a day at the races. There are plenty of good pubs and hotels in the location for a meal or an overnight stay
DIRECTIONS
Leave M6 at J15. Take third exit at roundabout, south on A519 towards Eccleshall and Shrewsbury. In ¼ mile turn right at traffic lights into A5182. In ¾ mile, after crossing the motorway, turn right into Park Road. Butterton Racing Stables is on the right in ¾ mile.
